39 Years!

Just got back from a great weekend in Stanley, Idaho. If you've never been to Stanley, it is somewhere you ought to visit at least once in your lifetime. And once you've been there, you'll want to return. It is located next to the Sawtooth Wilderness and it is beautiful. The mountains really are jagged like a saw blade and so picturesque with many lakes and lots of trails for hiking and biking. We spent most of our time at Redfish Lake. The rooms and cabins at Redfish were all full so that is why we stayed in the little town of Stanley. But our accomodations at the High Country Inn were excellent. And it is right across the street from the best breakfast around at the Stanley bakery. They make fresh cinnamon rolls, croissants, scones, and cookies galore. And the breakfast is wonderful, cooked to order.
We hiked the first day on the iron creek trail that goes all the way to Sawtooth Lake. We did not go that far though. We did enjoy hiking to the foot of the Sawtooths, but we had a granddaughter with us who is only 2 and not really ready to go too far into the wilderness. The water in the little stream was crystal clear and it sang happily as we hiked along its side.
Following our hike we went over to Redfish Lake and listened to an African Children's Choir. They were really something. Then we swam at our favorite little beach for a while. We had a great day. The next day we did a little bike riding around the lake. It was fun, but I hit a rock and bruised my leg pretty bad. Oh well. We drove to Sun Valley afterward and wandered around there for a while. We had pizza and candy:) There is a chocolate shop there that is my absolute favorite candy store. Yum!!
I guess I forgot to mention the purpose of this little excursion was to celebrate our anniversary. We've been married 39 years! And we are still very happy together. I think I made the right choice in husbands!
Well I will include a few photos. Hope you are having a great day too!

Singin' in the Rain

Well, today should be a better day than yesterday. I have been feeling so down lately, but I feel like I turned a little bit of a corner yesterday and I think life should get better again.
I really need to start exercising again. So today I am going to go back to the "wreck" center and work up a sweat:) Then I suppose I will pick up a grandson and take him school shopping. He needs new clothes as his old ones are getting so short on his growing body. Then I guess I will get hubby to take me out to dinner and a movie. Exciting life I lead:) TTTL
